Obdurate is an Afro house artist from KwaNgcolosi who frequently collaborates with the producer, DJ, and MosaiQ Music label manager DarQknight. Together the South African pair have released multiple singles together, including ‘Induku’, ‘Bayi Komfo’, and many more. For their Sondela debut the duo present ‘Maphuma’, a two - track Afro house package featuring the prolific Durban singer Lizwi. Throughout ‘Maphuma’, a strong, soul - rendering bass is omnipresent as Lizwi’s majestic, ethereal vocals are deftly woven around syncopated synth patterns. The release features both a deep and tech house mix, showing off the producers’ expansive capabilities with the genre.
